My docket is mainly concerned with discipline and deputizing for the principal on administrative matters.
Discipline is critical to good performance in any institution. At Naivasha Girls, we believe in transformative leadership. My key duty in this office is to transform the students under our care to disciplined and responsible future leaders. We mould them by guiding them on what is right.
I work with a 5 member discipline committee (Mrs Ogega, Mr Mwaura, Mrs Wainaina And Mr Irae) as the chairperson. The school principal readily and fully addresses discipline matters. Class teachers are always part of discipline concerns and the Guidance and Counseling department when necessary. We always involve parents in discipline matters and most of them have been very co-operative.
The teachers are very supportive in enhancing discipline and I work with prefects too under the stewardship of Audrey Akinyi and Pascalia Sharleen. The prefects’ body always meets every week to check on the progress and I attend their meetings after every fortnight.
We apply corrective disciplinary action after thorough investigations and consultations. We even refer some students for professional counseling where necessary.
My dream is to have students from Naivasha girls taking up key leadership positions to play a key role in transforming our nation Kenya.
